The M1 Crew celebrate.

Our Story

St Antony's Boat Club (SABC) is the official rowing club of St Antony's College, Oxford. For over 50 years, our crews have raced, embraced, and lived the spirit of rowing together.

Every year, we welcome new rowers to the boat club - be they complete beginners or seniors. We offer members the chance to learn how to row and cox, as well as to compete in College, university, and external regattas.

Many of our alumni continue rowing even after they leave Oxford -- be it at sunset on the River Nile or in local and regional races in Poland!

Formal dinners, pot lucks, and other social events make us one of St Antony's most entertaining and socially diverse organisations. Have a look at our media section to see some pictures!

Members are encouraged to compete in the annual Oxford bumps races of Torpids (Week 7 of Hilary Term) and Eights (Week 5 of Trinity Term), and are given access to excellent facilities and coaching.

Our competition crews row hard and play hard. Our senior crews have a competitive mindset, rowing on the river and training in the gym most days during race season. Our other crews enjoy racing competitively while accommodating fewer outings and training sessions.

At the same time, we also have "friendly" boats, where the crews enjoy the lighter side of rowing. They meet to row together for fun and participate in lower-intensity training sessions and activities to socialise and work out.

We also have lots of opportunities for active members who can't or don't want to row in a crew but still enjoy participating in races, training, and social events.
