Your College Family

SABC_d_1.jpg

You're lucky to have landed at St Antony's,

though you probably don't yet realise just how lucky.

Most of your peers here will have a deeply felt connection to some thing or issue in the world and are here to do something about it.

Very few of us are sporty or athletic. We're passionate about our studies. It's even true that many of us have no particular attachment to rowing before we arrive. Yet when it comes time to leave for the term,  it will be your rowing buddies that you really miss: the people you erged with, who saved you a seat in the best College study hole, who proofread your papers and brought you food, who were with you when you outstripped your academic and physical limits, with whom you agonised about your impossible coursework and bemoaned the weather on every chilly day.

Many members also serve on your GCR team; they work behind the Late Bar, they're welfare officers and junior deans, they organise academic conferences... and they'll be punching you in the back with their oar, too, and helping you to overcome your fear and master skills you never expected.

Graduate study at Oxford is one of life's best challenges;

and it's a challenge better surmounted with others.

As St Antony's largest student club, our members help each other navigate a new life in Oxford, settle into a healthy and positive routine, and succeed academically and personally.
